Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Douglas Trahan, 57, who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

 

Interment will be in Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery.

 

Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Be Not Afraid", "How Great Thou Art" and "Ave Maria".

 

Survivors include three sisters, Berta Thibodeaux and her husband, Marshall, Barbara Dopson and her husband, Cecile, Sr. and Bobbie Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Pearl Spell Trahan; one sister, Sandra Fontenot; and two brothers, Curtis and Leroy Trahan.

 

A native of Crowley, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for the past ten years, Mr. Trahan was a loving son, brother, nephew and friend to all who knew him. He loved to listen to music, watch television and watching sports. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

 

Pallbearers will be Marshall Thibodeaux, Blake Comeaux,  Jordan Comeaux, Jason Allen, Robert Marceaux and Anderson Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Thibodeaux, Chad Thibodeaux and Jeremy Allen.

 

The family requests that visitation be observed on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 from 8:00 AM until time of services at Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location.
