Duson Chief of Police Frank Andrew announced that his office is investigating a 2 vehicle crash on I-10 that left 1 person dead and 2 others in critical condition.

Around 6:00 PM on Wednesday March 3, 2010, vehicle #1 traveling Eastbound on I-10 near the 92 mile marker crossed the median and struck vehicle #2 traveling Westbound head on. The passenger in vehicle 1 was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver was transported by Air Med to a local hospital in is listed in critical condition. The driver of vehicle #2 was also transported to a local hospital in is listed in critical condition.

Assisting Duson PD in the investigation was the Louisiana State Police, Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Rayne Police Department. The investigation is continuing at this time.
