A celebration of life will be held Saturday October 30, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Duhon Funeral Home in Rayne for Elaine Arceneaux Plattsmier Leon, 65, who passed away Thursday October 28, 2010 at her home in Rayne, surrounded by her loving family.

Elaine’s survivors include her husband Raymond Leon of Rayne; two daughters Tina and her husband Chris Cook of Baton Rouge, and Melissa Plattsmier Menard of Lafayette; four sons and their wives Christopher and Lynette Plattsmier of Rayne, David Plattsmier of Okinawa, Japan, Todd and Catherine Plattsmier of Ragley La., and Benjamin and Lisa Plattsmier of Jacksonville North Carolina.

Elaine is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren Jaime, Kase, Gina, and her husband  Jarrod, Amber, and her husband Justin, Alanie, Alexander, Nyles, Catelyn, Anne Catherine, James, Joshua, Christina, Kana, and Gabrielle; one great grandchild Braiden Justin; two brothers John “Piggy” Arceneaux, and Jerry Arceneaux; three sisters Mona Stutes of Rayne, Barbara Rue of Rayne, and Deborah Grimmer of Breaux Bridge.

She was preceded in death by her Parents Elton and Eunice Chaisson Arceneaux Sr.; one brother Elton Arceneaux Jr.

She was a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, a cherished daughter, sister, loving friend and strong woman of faith.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Heart of Hospice in Elaine’s name.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until services.
