Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 3:00 PM in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Elcee “Bud” Romero, 74, who passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11:45 AM at the West Cal/Cam Hospital in Sulphur, La.  Fr. Clint Trahan from St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating the services.

Survivors include his companion, Dolores “Dee” Rogers of Carlyss, three sons, Norbert B. Romero of Scott, Ricky and wife Susan Romero of Carlyss and Anthony Romero of Hackberry; one daughter, Angela and husband, Kent Richard of Rayne; two sisters, Maimie Venable of Marksville and Barbara and husband Leeboy Miller of Scott; two brothers, Rodney Romero of Duson and Patrick and wife Lena Romero of Lafayette; eight grandchildren, Lance Romero, Tabetha and husband, Daniel Mayard, Travis Romero, Casey and wife Brittney Romero, Jade Romero, Kassie Richard, Dustin Romero and Zachery Richard; five great grandchildren, Austin, Andrew, Alaina, Bralynn and Gunner Ray.

Bud is preceded in death by his wife, Anais C.  Romero, his parents, Eddie and Emma Romero, one brother, Alcee Joseph Romero; two sisters, Bertha Barthe and Betty Soileaux.

Pallbearers for the services will be grandsons, Casey, Travis, Dustin and Lance Romero, Zachery Richard and Daniel Mayard.

Visitation will be Friday, March 04, 2011 at 2:00 PM till 10:00 PM then Saturday, 8:00 AM till time of services. A Rosary will be recited Friday at 7:00 in the evening in the funeral home chapel.
