A missing python has not yet been accounted for, according to Eunice police.

The 15-feet-long reticulated python was reported “lost” on March 31.

Its owner said the serpent stayed in a shed behind her house on Juanita Street, south of Maple Avenue, and she hadn’t seen it in several weeks.

Wary officers conducted a shed search, finding no sign the snake was about, and it would hard to miss.

The snake is not considered dangerous, though citizens are advised to be on the look out for it.

The python is not poisonous and does not move all that quickly because of its length and weight.

Anyone who spots the snake is asked to call the police at 457-6588 rather than taking any action themselves.
