Farmer discovers Harley, its dead driver in Jeff Davis irrigation canal

JENNINGS – A farmer discovered a motorcycle and the body of its driver in an irrigation canal three days after the accident.

According to State Police, Steven Marx, 39, of Jennings was killed in the crash on La 97 south of La 368.

The 2010 Harley Davidson and Marx were found by a farmer on the afternoon of June 17. The accident is thought to have happened on June 14.

Troopers said Marx failed to negotiate a curve, ran off the left side of the road and entered a ditch.

After entering the ditch, the motorcycle drove up the ditch embankment and came to rest in the canal.

Troopers believe this crash occurred on June 14. It remains under investigation.
