EUNICE - A Thursday morning fire ended one family’s plans to move into a new home.

Eunice firefighters responded to a call at approximately 8:30 a.m. of a trailer fire at 1008 North Second St., Trailer #10.

Eunice firefighter Chris Miller said that when he arrived at the scene, “the trailer had smoke coming out all windows; there were flames shooting outside of the back of the trailer.”

According to Miller, the trailer was until recently uninhabited. A family was preparing to move into the rental trailer, and the electricity was turned on that morning.

An electrical fire started in the kitchen.

No one was injured in the fire, which was quickly put out.
