U.S. Dist. Judge Richard Haik also sentenced Hickman, 51, to three years of supervised released following his prison time.
Federal prosecutors say Hickman had a revolver with an obliterated serial number in his possession when sheriff’s deputies searched his home, looking for department equipment he allegedly kept after his firing in January 2011 for failing to cooperate with an internal investigation by the city.
