MIRE –– Funeral services were held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, in Mire, on Monday, December 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. for Glenda Mire Young, 56, who died Saturday, December 8, 2012.

Interment was in the Arceneaux Cemetery, Mire.

Surviving are her mother, Nellie Guidry Mire of Rayne; father, Murphy Mire of Lake Charles; daughter, Ramona Faye Young of Rayne; son, Casey John Roger of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Chaz, Richard, Trenton Richard, Logan Young and Trevor Young; her companion, Larry Smith of Rayne; two brothers, Gerald Mire of Houston, and Gary Mire, Sr. of Broussard; and one sister, Sandra Markle of Houston.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Cledus” Young; one son, Brad James Young; one sister, Ramona Faye Mire; and one step-son, Jacque Anthony Smith.

She was born Sunday, August 26, 1956 in Rayne, daughter of Murphy Mire and Nellie Guidry Mire.

“T-Cat” as she is known, loved her family and many friends, and was always there to help in so many ways. Her love of animals was also extended by her kind heart, as was her ever endearing kindness. A veteran of the United States Army, Glenda served her country with dignity and honor.

Friends were received 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., Sunday, December 9, and 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 10. 2012, at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne.

Pallbearers were Larry Smith, Romona Young, Tyler Mire, Gary Mire, Jr., Gary Mire, Sr, and Kenneth Mire.

Honorary pallbearers were her four grandchildren, Chaz Richard, Trenton Richard, Logan Young and Trevor Young, Shase Smith, Kaylee Mire, Anisley Mire, Christian Mire, and Darrell and Lisa Smith Soileaux.
