Louisiana's booming movie business is coming to Crowley. The production team behind the upcoming feature film THE ANGEL CHANNEL, will hold an informational meeting for the public on  Tuesday, July 17th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at the Historic Rice Theater in downtown Crowley (323 North Parkerson Ave.) to discuss the film and job opportunities.  Everyone is welcome.

"We will be briefing the public about THE ANGEL CHANNEL story, our shooting schedule, the extra movie work and the hands on jobs available for people from the area,” says producer Dan Moore, a 30-year Hollywood veteran.  "If you think you want to be involved in any way, come to The Rice Theater on Tuesday and fill out an application. We’ll take your photo, too."

“Our film will be showcasing Crowley’s unique locations and we are committed to hiring as many local folks to work with us as we can. Not only do we need a lot of people in front of the camera, but there are support jobs we really must fill, from musicians to drivers to office help, production assistants, and more,” says Sheri Myers, producer, and co-writer of the film. “If you have an apartment, house or an extra bedroom to rent, we might want it for our cast and crew.”

THE ANGEL CHANNEL is scheduled to begin shooting Friday, October 19th onstage at the Rice Festival.  Two Legends of Louisiana Music, Tab Benoit, and Irma Thomas, are on board to play significant roles in the movie.  Louisiana music and musicians, including the catalogue of recording pioneer JD Miller, will be featured in the film.

More information about the film can be found at www.theangelchannelmovie.com

Those who cannot attend Tuesday 7/17 are welcome to stop by Crowley City Hall to fill out a form, after the event.
