Mrs. Luke Christopher Guidry
The bride is the daughter of Marian T. Hundley of Crowley and Kelly Hundley II of Maxie. Her grandparents are Mary S. Trahan of Crowley and the late Glady J. Trahan and the late Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Hundley. She is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame High School and a 2007 graduate of the Cosmetology Training Center and is currently a cosmetologist at Spa Mizan in Lafayette.
The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs. Christopher Guidry of Church Point. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Onebane Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Adam Guidry. He is a 2001 graduate of Notre Dame High School and a 2005 graduate of UL-Lafayette. He is currently employed by Chris Guidry Plumbing.
Bridgid’s gown made a stunning silhouette. She chose an A-line gown of ivory lace with a beaded and sequinned motif detail centered at the ruched waist. The fabric gathered to form “petals” with a fitted sweatheart bodice. During the nuptial mass the bride finished off her attire with an ivory crinoline cape, beaded along the edges which was fashioned by Bridgid’s mother. Her head piece was a delicate ivory finger tip length veil. She carried a bouquet of hand tied red roses wrapped with gold ribbon. Honoring tradition, Bridgid wore her mothers sapphire birthstone ring representing something old and something blue. Her gown was new and she borrowed her veil from her cousin, Sara H. McKay.
Her maid of honor was her sister Ashley C. Hundley. Bridgid’s bridal attendants were Dayna Guidry, sister of the groom; and Lesley Spaetgens and Jennifer C. Hensgens, friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore lapis crinkled chiffon empire dresses with a crossover bodice. Each wore a champagne colored crinoline shawl fashioned by the mother of the bride and they carried hand tied cream roses accented with gold ribbon.
Best man was Adam Guidry, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Trey Hundley, brother of the bride; Clint Meche, cousin of the groom and Adam Meche, friend of the groom. The ushers were Will Casanova, friend of the groom and Trey Meche, cousin of the groom.
The mother of the bride, Marian Trahan Hundley, wore a stunning two piece dress in rich mocha taffeta accented with ribbon rosettes and sequins. A matching three-quarter sleeve bolero completed the ensemble. Her corsage had three cream spray roses trimmed with cream and gold ribbon.
The mother of the groom, Reneé Onebane Guidry, chose an Alex Taffeta set in deep blueberry, featuring a triple button jacket with three-quarter sleeves and bead-detailed embroidery in black on the waist, worn over a matching camisole. A long taffeta skirt in blueberry completed her outfit. Her corsage also had three cream spray roses trimmed with cream and gold ribbon.
Musical selections were performed by Jennifer Sonnier, vocalist; Julie Turner, organist; and Beau Thomas, violinist. Hallie Andrus, cousin of the groom and Allison Saltzman, cousin of the bride read the scripture selections. Offertory gifts were brought to the alter by Andrew Onebane, godfather of the groom and Melanie Hensgens, godmother of the bride.
A reception was held at the Ballroom of Crowley immediately following the mass. The bridal cake was two tiers, iced butter cream and separated by pedestals. Fresh roses between the tiers and around the base added elegance to the confection. Melanie T. Hensgens, the bride’s godmother served the lovely bridal cake.
The groom’s cake was a butter cream cake with chocolate icing. Atop the cake was a fish, cattails and reeds molded from chocolate candy depicting the groom’s favorite hobby. The groom’s cake was served by the groom’s godmother, Donna Lee Dailey.
Guests traveled from Georgia, Texas, all over Louisiana and as far as Canada. The couple resides in Lafayette.
A Thursday, January 6 rehearsal dinner was held at 7 p.m. at Fezzo’s II in Scott. The dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom.
