Mrs. Logan Chanze' Ervin Emerson
The bride is the daughter of Robert J. Habetz and Priscilla “Pat” Keigley Habetz of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of the late William “Bill” Keigley and the late Vivian Boulet Keigley of Crowley, and the late Joseph Habetz and the late Anna Cramer Habetz of Rayne.
The groom is the son of Bonnie Deitz Emerson of Crowley and the late Robert “Bobby” Ervin Emerson of Eunice. His grandparents are Dorothy Harrell Thorton of Livingston, Tex. and the late Wilbert L. Deitz of Eunice, and the late Billy Emerson and the late Betty Miller Emerson, both of Eunice.
Heather, a 1997 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, attended Louisiana State University at Eunice and is presently employed by John N. John Truckline in Crowley.
Logan is a 2002 graduate of Crowley High School and currently works at the Crowley Town Club.
For her wedding day, Heather chose a romantic strapless dress in luxurious white re-embroidered lace. The fitted bodice and natural waistline flowed into an A-line silhouette skirt featuring a high-low hemline. The gown, perfect for a beach wedding, was embellished in its entirety with pearls, crystals and bead work.
For a headpiece, Heather selected a delicate feathered clip adorned with teardrop crystals and pearls. She carried a unique bouquet of variegated baby’s breath with green accents tied with satin ribbon.
In keeping with tradition, the bride carried her great-grandmother’s antique handkerchief as “something old.” She wore a garter belt crocheted by the maid of honor as “something new,” her mother’s childhood antique pearl bracelet as “something borrowed” and a pair of blue ice earrings and matching pendant, gifts from the groom, as “something blue.”
Heather was escorted by her father, Robert Habetz.
Melissa Habetz Winston, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bride’s sister Stacy Habetz served as maid of honor.
The bridal attendants wore one-shouldered day dresses saturated in the mesmerizing colors of the ocean. Two layers of flowing chiffon created loose silhouettes that fell to just above the knees.
Melissa and Stacy carried simple baby’s breath bouquets that complemented the bride’s.
Brice Scarbrough, friend of the groom, served as best man, and Matt Miller, also a friend of the groom, stood as groomsman.
Heather’s mother, the former Pat Keigley, chose a scoop neck fuschia silk top and ankle-length chiffon skirt featuring blue, fuschia and orange blossoms. The top’s feminine tulip sleeves were perfectly echoed by the skirt’s fluttering asymmetrical tiers.
The mother of the groom, the former Bonnie Deitz, was clad in an ankle-length paisley print maxi dress in brown and teal. The dress featured a beaded scoop neckline combined with an empire waist.
Following the wedding, a reception in the couple’s honor was held at the beachfront Phoenix III.
The tables were elegantly covered and lit with tea candles in lace-adorned jars.
The chantilly berry wedding cake was a light, moist confection center-filled with fresh strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. The chantilly frosting, made of whipped cream, mascarpone and cream cheese, was topped with a perfect blend of berries and apricot glaze.
Out-of-town guests traveled from Canada, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and various points throughout Louisiana.
Prior to the wedding, the bride’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Phoenix IV in Orange Beach. Guests enjoyed crawfish étouffée over Syrian rice served with homemade bread and white chocolate bread pudding for dessert.
Following a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple is residing in Crowley.
