LAFAYETTE - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1:00pm at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Mrs. Helen Richard “Nana” Terro, 65, who passed away Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 in Lafayette.

Father Joe Breaux of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Maurice will officiate.

Interment will follow in Fountain Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Terro was born February 10, 1945 in Lafayette, La. In the earliest years of her professional career, Helen was employed by Rider’s Jewelry and Maison Blanche as a bridal and gift consultant. In 1985, with a love for the outdoors as her guide, she founded Ladybugs Lawn Maintenance, where she served as President for 25 years. Later, through the establishment of The Ladybug Lodge Reception Hall, she was able to pursue her second passion, hosting others. Upon retirement, Helen was able to spend countless hours with those she often referred to as her “second family”, Chapter “B” of the Goldwingers Motorcycle Association. Once serving as Senior Chapter Director, she felt truly blessed to have shared her weekends with her husband of 46 years and some of her closest friends.

“Nana”-A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, will always be remembered for her gift of giving unselfishly to others. As a transplant recipient, she remained humbled and thankful for the unexpected gift of a complete stranger. A person of faith, her only prayer was to have her dreams fulfilled through the lives of those she cherished most, her grandchildren. There existed no greater joy than spending her life in support of their dreams. Along with her loving husband Doug, she spent most of the last 20 years enjoying all of the activities their three grandchildren participated in. Helen was affectionately known as “Nana” to her grandchildren and all of their friends.

Heaven has called an angel home. To those of us who knew her, she will forever symbolize the strength, courage and perseverance by which all should live. You have earned the wings you now wear so proudly. Your message shall live forever, “Pursue your dreams… just be sure to make “Nana” proud.” She will be deeply missed by those who loved her, especially by her devoted family.
