A house fire Saturday night claimed the lives of four children. The house fire took place at 11:59 p.m. in the 1500 block of Edith Street in Rayne.
According to Rayne Police, four of McDade's five childrene were left home alone while she was at a Church Point bar. The four children--Jamari Mcdade, 8, Amous Mouton Jr., 7, Lashay Mcdade, 5, and Brian Steiner, 2--were killed in a house fire just before midnight on Saturday, April 21. Acadia Parish Coroner Mark Dawson determined the children's deaths to be the result of smoke inhalation.
McDade's oldest child, an 10-year-old boy was not home at the time of the fire.
