An Acadia Parish grand jury has indicted Shaqueta McDade, 26, on four counts of second degree murder.

According to Rayne Police, four of McDade's five childrene were left home alone while she was at a Church Point bar. The four children--Jamari Mcdade, 8, Amous Mouton Jr., 7, Lashay Mcdade, 5, and Brian Steiner, 2--were killed in a house fire just before midnight on Saturday, April 21. Acadia Parish Coroner Mark Dawson determined the children's deaths to be the result of smoke inhalation.

McDade's oldest child, an 10-year-old boy was not home at the time of the fire.
