The green-eyed, blonde beauty was named among six contestants who participated in the Rayne pageant, one of many contests held prior to next month’s Frog Festival slated Sept. 5-7 in Rayne.
The new queen was crowned by the 2007 honoree, Tessa Richard Dischler of Rayne. She was escorted by her husband, Billy Dischler.
Named 1st Alternate was Shanna Comeaux Morgan of Carencro. She was also named Most Photogenic during the pageant.
Second Alternate was Heather Romero of Rayne. She was also named Miss Congeniality by her fellow contestants.
Also competing for the pageant were Jackie Paige Bergeron of Lake Charles, Donna Savoy of Scott and Kaycie Billiot of Branch.
As announced by director/coordinator Vicki Meaux and co-director Kelly Meaux, Little Sisters who made rose presentations to the contestants were Keeley Johnson, Janci Aube, Ahni Mire, Alyssa Morgan, Ashlyn Halpin and Carmen Beal.
Judges for the contest were Barbara Sanders of Arnaudville, Emmanuel Marcotte of Cottonport and Linda Comeaux of Abbeville.
Serving as mistress of ceremonies was Monica Suire, with Kade Sutes leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Auditors responsible for calculations were Dennis Mouton and Robin Daugereau.
Special guests in attendance were Jim Meaux, president La. Association of Fairs and Festivals; Dennis Mouton, past president; Angie Broussard, president Rayne Chamber of Commerce; Nikki Link, treasurer Rayne Chamber of Commerce; Charmaine Landry, 2004 Ms. Frog Queen; and Anne-Katherine Lene Moss, 2006 Ms. Frog Queen.
Entertainment was provided by Project Dance Competition Team under the direction of Nikki Link.
Numerous local and out of town royalty were also in attendance.
The Ms. Rayne Frog Festival Pageant is provided for contestants 18 years and over married, or divorced or single 24 years and over.
The Ms. Frog Queen is recognized as part of the Rayne Frog Festival royalty family.
