Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 27, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.at the Church of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mire for Iris B. Daigle, 85, who died Sunday October 24, 2010 at Opelousas General Hospital.

The very Reverend Monsignor Russell Harrington will officiate

Mrs. Daigle was a 1944 graduate of Church Point High School, November 19, 1944 she married her beloved husband and best friend Leroy Daigle the marriage has lasted over 65 years.

Other survivors include three daughters and their husbands Norma Richard, Theresa and Wade Daigle, and Susie and Wayne Daigle all of Church Point; five sons and their wives Lee Voice and Brenda Daigle of Richard, Hubert and Geneva Daigle, Terry Daigle, Leroy and Judy Daigle Jr., and Jeffrey and Sandra Daigle all of Church Point; one sister Lacey and her husband Raymond Daigle of Church Point; twenty one grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Daigle was preceded in death by one son Allen Daigle; a grandson Tommy Richard; her parents Alcee and Angela Morvant Bergeron; and one brother Daward Bergeron.

Mrs. Daigle will be remembered as being the family seamstress having  sewed clothing for all of her children grandchildren and also her great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday October 26, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until services.

Burial will be held in the Church of The Assumption Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point.
