CROWLEY - Jane Elizabeth Frank of Rayne and Hobie Cameron Fluitt of Crowley exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, October 13, 2012 during a 6:30 p.m. nuptial Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley. Monsignor Keith Derouen officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Kate O’Meara Frank of Rayne. Her grandparents are Mrs. Garry O’Meara of Lafayette, and the late Dr. and Mrs. Jack Frank of Crowley.

The groom is the son of Marlin and Roxann Simon Fluitt of Crowley. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Simon, and Burl Fluitt and the late Catherine Petry Fluitt, all of Crowley.

Jane is a 2009 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish. She attended Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge and graduated from the Cosmetology Training Center in Lafayette. She is presently a stylist at Amelia Scott Salon in Rayne.

Hobie also graduated from Notre Dame in 2009. He attended South Louisiana Community College in Lafayette, where he earned National EMS Academy EMT and EMT-Paramedic Certifications. Hobie is currently employed as a paramedic with Acadian Ambulance.

Guests were escorted to their seats by Adam O’Meara, cousin of the bride, Nick Vincent, brother-in-law of the groom, and Justin Doucet, Jack Thomas Hundley, Jantz Sloane, Robert Sarver, Will Artall, Trevor Stoma and Andy Caswell, all friends of the bride and groom.

Music for the wedding was arranged by Will Green and Alberta Lyons. Musicians included two trumpeters, two violinists and a cellist. Jodi Bollich provided vocals.

Musical selections for the ceremony included “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring,” “Canon in D,” “Trumpet Voluntary,” and Schubert’s “Ave Maria” and “Rondeau.”

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was truly gorgeous in a strapless ivory Mikado gown by Oleg Cassini. The fitted bodice, with its slightly curved neckline, was embellished with seed pearls and crystals. Delicate embroidered floral bead work appliqués adorned the front and sides of the bodice and defined the gown’s natural waist, extending partially below it. The hand-beaded floral appliques were repeated around the hemline of the ball gown skirt and extended upwards slightly at the skirt’s front and rear to complement the design of the bodice. The back of the skirt was gathered in gentle folds at the waist and flowed into a chapel-length train.

To complete her bridal ensemble, Jane selected a traditional veil with a hand-embroidered flower design matching the one on her dress.

Jane’s bouquet was a lovely mixture of hydrangeas, calla lilies and ranunculus, all in shades of pale green, ivory and white.

To ensure a happy marriage, the bride carried the traditional good luck items. Her maternal great-grandmother’s handkerchief was “something old;” her engagement ring was “something new;” her paternal grandparents’ rosary was “something borrowed;” and a medal of the Blessed Mother given to her by the maid of honor was “something blue.”

The maid of honor was Emma Frank, sister of the bride. Serving as bridesmaids were Heidi Vincent, sister of the groom, and Michelle O’Meara, aunt of the bride. Paige Vincent, niece of the groom, Paisley Vincent, niece and godchild of the groom, and Ella Frank, sister of the bride, served as junior bridesmaids.

The maid of honor and bridesmaids were clad in strapless black full-length gowns. The fitted bodices had slightly curved necklines and defined natural waistlines. The A-line skirts flowed softly to the floor from gentle pleats at the waist, with demure front slits to add motion.

The junior bridesmaids wore beautiful full-length ballerina gowns. The sleeveless satin bodices featured scoop necklines and satin-covered buttons running down their backs from neckline to waistline. Wide satin sashes defined the waistlines and formed decorative bows to complete the backs of the gowns.

The bridal attendants all carried flowers echoing the colors and composition of the bride’s bouquet.

Ella Marie O’Meara, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl. She was beautiful in a smocked bishop dress in ivory batiste.

The groom’s father served as best man. Patrick O’Meara, uncle of the bride, and Kevin Frank Jr., David Frank, Jack Frank and Joseph Frank, all brothers of the bride, stood as groomsmen.

Ring bearers were Parker Vincent, the groom’s nephew and godchild, and Matthew Frank, the bride’s brother. Parker carried a special Bible belonging to the groom’s grandmother.

Selected Scriptures were read by JoBeth Caswell, friend of the bride and groom, and Jack Russell Frank II, godfather of the bride.

Offertory gifts were presented by Wendy Morgan, aunt of the groom, Cassie Morgan and Claire Morgan, cousins of the groom, and Matthew Price, cousin of the bride.

Following the Mass, a reception was held at The Grand Opera House of the South in Crowley. The bride’s traditional three-tiered cake was decorated with ivory icing and topped with fresh flowers.

Out-of-town guests traveled from Florida, Georgia, Nevada, Texas and various points throughout Louisiana.

Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Frankel Farm. Guests at the October 6 dinner enjoyed barbecued brisket.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Crowley.
