Rayne - Funeral services will be held at Gossen Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, August 5, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. for Jay Laviolet, 52, who died Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Iowa.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Laviolet; father Claby Laviolet; sister, Peggy Istre and husband, Adam, of Rayne, sister, Marie Aucoin and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Spell Laviolet.

He was born Tuesday, September 17, 1957, in Rayne, son of Claby Laviolet and the late Thelma Spell Laviolet.

Friends will be received 10:00 A.M. until 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 4 and 8:00 A.M. until services, Thursday, August 5, 2010. at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.
