CROWLEY - Funeral services were pending at press time for Jeffrey Joseph Guidry, 70, who died September 5, 2010 in Crowley. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.

Jeff was born in Kaplan on January 23, 1940. He was an Allstate agent for 34 years. Jeff was a 46 year member and a past president of the Kiwanis Club. He was an avid tennis player for 36 years, and traveled to Europe many times. Jeff served his country in the U.S. Army for 3 years in Germany.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Elaine Roche Guidry. Three children, Sandy Guidry Saucier and her husband, John of Dallas, Craig J. Guidry and his wife, Amy of Dallas, and Kristy Guidry Harrod and her husband, Glen of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Kellen, Jayme and Monique Saucier, Jakoby Blanchard, Noah and Ben Guidry, Colleen and Bradley Harrod; and two sisters, Delores Guidry of Kaplan, and Linda Sue Motty of Meaux.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Kerney and Mable Hebert Guidry.

The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Brierre, P.A. Eric Buller, and all the wonderful nurses at the Oncology Center in Crowley

The family would also like to thank “The Prayer Warriors” from Lafayette, our family and friends who have prayed for us throughout this ordeal.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana and Miles Perret Cancer Services of Lafayette.
