Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, with Father Richard Wagner, S.S.J., officiating for Jimmie Lee Guidry, 60, who died at 2:15 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012, at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.

Burial will follow in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, at Wilturner Funeral Home in Crowley.

He is survived by his father, Earl Guidry, Sr. of Branch; his wife, Bertha Mae Guidry of Rayne; two sons, Jimmie Guidry, Sr., and Jamond Guidry, both of Rayne; brothers, John Guidry, Nolan Guidry and Robert Nixon, all of Houston, Texas, and Oserin Guidry and Randy Guidry, both of Rayne; sisters, Earl Mae Gujidry, Rosie Boudreaux, Ida Guidry and Alberta Guidry, all of Houston, Texas, and Vera Rhodes of Crockett, Texas; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leola Guidry, brothers, Raymond Buchanan, and Earl Guidry, Jr.; and a sister, Anna Mae Guidry.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Wilturner Funeral Home of Crowley.

Uncle Jimmie I would have never thought that the last time you called me ugly would be the last time I would hear your voice...now who am I suppose to fight with when I go to Rayne? Wow!! There are no words that could begin to explain what we are feeling right now, you will always be in our hearts, you have now joinded the ranks with Momma, Uncle Sunny, Aunt Moonie, and Earl Jr..R.I.P Uncle your love has left a lasting impression on my life!!
