LYONS POINT – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for John “Tee John” Broussard, 92, who died at Camelot Nursing Home at 10:10 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2011.

Fr. Don Leger will celebrate the Mass and the burial will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley. Visitation was observed from 10 a.m. Monday until 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Monday.

Mr. Broussard was born February 22, 1919 in Lyons Point to the late Augustine and Amanda Simon Broussard. He was a farmer and an agent with Louisiana Wildlife and fisheries.

He is survived by his wife Helen Leblanc Broussard of Mermentau Cove; three daughters Birdie B. Verrett of Brusly, Barbara B. LeLeux and her husband Hubert of Lyons Point and Jeanelle B. Beard and her husband Kenneth Sr. of Crowley; two stepsons Daryl LeBlanc and wife Betty of Orange, Texas and Carol LeBlanc and Wife jenny of Orange; nine grandchildren Terry Vincent, Loretta Vincent, Sue Vincent Kahl, Peggy Vincent Fairchild, Lisa Vincent, Mary Vincent Thibodeaux, Pam LeLeux Potier, Deborah Beard Lejeune and Kenneth Beard Jr.; seven step-grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother Onelia Bergeron Broussard; his first wife Eties Thibodeaux Broussard; two sisters Sarah Hargrave and Izelama Benoit; two brothers Sidney and Offard Broussard; a granddaughter Michelle LeLeux Carriere; two stepbrothers and a step sister; a step-grandchild Dee Dee Leblanc and two sons-in-law Anatole Vincent and Richard Verrett.

Pallbearers will be Greg Potier, A. J. Vincent, Burke Fiscus, Alex Vincent, Jamie Thibodeaux and Achille Fairchild. Honorary pallbearers Shawn Trichell and Kenneth beard Jr.
