Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Edmond Catholic Church in Branch for Joseph Ray Savoy, 76, who died Saturday, March 12, at his residence in Church Point.

Survivors include his wife Hazel P. Savoy of Church Point; one daughter Edolia Duplechin and her husband Leon Thibodeaux, of Church Point; one son Darrell and his wife Charlene Savoy of Church Point; his sister Mary Dean Savoy of Church Point; his brother Joseph Aubrey Savoy of Church Point; two grandchildren Mary Nicole Savoy and Kayla Jeane Duplechin both of Church Point; two great grandchildren Kage Bellard, and Ana Reyes both of Church Point.

Mr. Savoy was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Archille and Edolia Venable Savoy; his grandson Joseph Archille “T-Joe” Savoy and three brothers Calvin, Roy, and Gabriel Savoy.

Visitation will be held Tuesday March 15, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until services.

Burial will be held in the St. Edmonds Catholic Church in Branch under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point.
