Joshua Scott Guidry, 30, of Brookshire, Texas, passed away at his home Monday, September 20, 2010.

Josh was born August 1, 1980, in Crowley, the son of Scott Anthony and Bernadette (Guidry) Guidry.

His early childhood years were spent in Louisiana. In 1987, the family moved to Waller, Texas. They have made their home in Brookshire since 1993 and attended the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pattison.

Josh attended the Royal public schools and was an active member of the Royal FFA in high school showing steers and heifers. He served on the Officers Team his sophomore, junior and senior years. After graduating from Royal High School in 1998, he attended Clarendon College in Clarendon in the Texas Panhandle until 2000.

For the past nine years, Josh has been employed as one of two ranch managers for Brookshire Farms where he was in charge of their hay and cattle business. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved hanging out and laughing with his many friends.

Josh is survived by his parents, Scott and Bernie Guidry of Pattison; a brother, Jason Guidry and his wife, Christa, of Boling; his goddaughter, Kinleigh Guidry, also of Boling; his paternal grandparents, Chester and Juanita Guidry of Morse; his maternal grandparents, Kirt and Claudia Guidry of Mermentau; and several other close relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation was observed from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pattison, Texas.

A Rosary 7 p.m. was held on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father David DuBois serving as Celebrant.

Interment will be at Pattison Cemetery in Pattison, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Travis Hakemack, Brent Brunner, J.D. Yanchak, Andrew Divin, Cory Tate, Wayne Kvalvig, Mike Lilley, and Mike Fuston.

Honorary pallbearers are Miguel Perez, D.J. Turner, T.J. Divin, Brandon Hein, Greg Archer, and Lance Myers.
