Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Major Gagliano of Baton Rouge are announcing the birth of their first child, a son, Jude Darrell Gagliano, who was born at 6:54 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2011, at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge.

At birth, he weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces, and measured 21 inches in length.

Mrs. Gagliano is the former Leslee Soileaux, daughter of Darrell and Lisa Soileaux of Rayne, maternal grandparents.

Paternal grandparents are Paul and Linda Gagliano of Peachtree City, Ga.

Great-grandparents are Lorraine and Robert Myers of Crowley, Jimmy and Peggy Smith of Rayne, Mr. and Mrs. Major Thompson of Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gagliano of Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elton Soileaux of Rayne.
