ABBEVILLE -- Jury selection for the trial of a man accused of helping another kill that man’s father began on Tuesday.

Brady Harrington is accused of the second-degree murder of James Trahan of Kaplan in April 2008.

Trahan’s son, Paxton, was convicted of the killing eight months ago.

The two men allegedly shot the victim and then burned the body.

In the Paxton trial, Dane Allen from Kaplan testified he was threatened by Harrington the night of murder to help move Trahan’s body, which was wrapped in a sheet.

Mason Deygood, a friend of Harrington, testified in the Paxton Trahan trial that Harrington told him that he and Trahan kicked in the father’s door and Harrington shot the man.

Trahan proceeded to clean the blood in the bedroom and burned the body to dispose of evidence.

Deygood added that Paxton Trahan and Harrington had discussed what to do with the body and agreed to get chains, weights and wrap the body and dump it over a bridge.

He also said Harrington’s phone had video recordings of a body on fire in the back yard.
