The bride-elect is the daughter of Matt and Sherry Rimmer of Rayne.
The prospective groom is the son of Greg and Diane Ronkartz of Mowata.
Hosting the afternoon courtesy were Pauline Gilbert, Carolyn Menard, Christine Simon, Ashley Duplantis, Susan Duhon and Marlene Venable.
Guests were provided an assortment of fingerfoods, punch and coffee.
For the special event, the Venable home was noted with fresh flower arrangements, including large centerpieces on refreshment tables. The guest registry table included a Victorial hat box for attendees to write well-wishes to the couple.
For her special day, Katie wore a knee-length sleeveless dress of pleated sage taffeta enhanced by a ruffled bodice. She was presented a miniature daisy shoulder corsage.
The bride-elect’s mother wore a silver and gray, multi-layered dress with matching accessories, while the prospective groom’s mother selected a teal dress designed with capped sleeves and ruffled collar.
Of the 25 guests in attendance were Marguerite Greig, maternal grandmother of the bride-elect; Christina Hornsby, maternal grandmother of the prospective groom; and JoAnn Ronkartz, paternal grandmother of the prospective groom.
The couple will be married on Friday, May 27, 2011, during a 6:30 p.m. evening ceremony at St. Leo IV Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, followed by a reception at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn in Rayne.
