Funeral services for Kenneth G. Reid, 69, of Sugartown, LA, will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Dry Creek, LA, with Rev. Rod Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Visitation was on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Shiloh Baptist Church in Dry Creek, and will continue Thursday at 9 a.m. until service time at the church.
Mr. Reid was born on October 30, 1942, to Walton Irving Reid and Blanche Harper Reid in Sugartown, LA, where he lived for most of his life. He was a construction foreman and consultant in oil and gas pipeline construction. He attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Dry Creek and was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Viet Nam. Mr. Reid passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012, in River Parish Hospital in LaPlace, LA.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Kathy Ann Reid of Sugartown, LA; daughter, Angie Reid Broussard and husband, Stuart, of Church Point, LA; brother, Sydney Tyler of Sugartown, LA; and three grandchildren, Jarreytt Johnson, Payton Broussard and Dylan Broussard.
