DELCAMBRE – The Notre Dame Lady Pios defeated Vermilion Catholic and Gueydan Saturday to claim Delcambre’s 7th annual Lynette Viator Memorial Tournament.

The Lady Pios (10-0) defeated Vermilion Catholic, 46-31, in the semifinals before cruising past Gueydan in the title game, 53-11.

Taylor Simon led the Lady Pios, combining for 16 points in the two games. Lexie Trosclair had 14 points, Marie Ledet 12, Kylie Pannell 11 and Mary Charles 10.

In other weekend action, the Iota Lady Bulldogs and the Crowley Ladies each logged victories in the Westminster Tournament.

Allison Baggett and Anna Leger combined for 33 points in the Lady Dogs’ 76-35 victory over Menard while Mercedes Rogers and Kara Wilridge combined for 30 in Crowley’s 55-13 victory over Westminster.

In boys’ action, Crowley defeated New Iberia, 40-36, and Opelousas, 61-47, Saturday at the Peabody Tournament.

Jerrell Andrus led the Gents in both games, scoring 19 and 12 points, respectively.
