The Rayne High Lady Wolves are gearing up for district play as they participated in the Jennings Tournament last weekend. Although the team didn’t place, they finished the weekend at 2-1 with wins over DeQuincy and Hamilton Christian, before falling to Northside.

In the DeQuincy win (25-19, 25-14) the Rayne offense was rather consistent with Amenda Bourque and Skyla Schexnider each with four kills, and Haley Cormier and Madeline Savoy leading assists with eight apiece. Brooke Mire led with three blocks.

In their Northside loss (21-25, 21-25), stats were lept rather low. Mire and Cormier each scored four kills, followed by Savoy and Cormier each with six assists. Mire scored two blocks and Nero had one of her own.

In their three-game Hamilton Christian win (25-21, 17-25, 15-9) the Ladies’ offense showed some improvement. Mire led kills with six, followed closely by Savoy with four, and Skyla Schexnider, Niesha Domingue and Sidney Fontenot each with three. Assists were donated by Savot (10), Cormier (5) and Erin LeBlanc (3).

During Tuesday’s game at Lafayette Christian, the Lady claimed another win (25-15, 22-25, 25-7, 16-25) this time having to go four games.
