Richard—A memorial service for Mr. Louis John Matte, Jr., 69, of Branch will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Edward Catholic Church, Richard, LA. Father Wayne Duet will officiate.

Mr. Matte passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012, in the Veterans Administration Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.

A lifelong resident of Branch, Mr. Matte served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include a sister, Loraine Matte of Branch; brothers, Elvin Matte of Gretna, and Austin Matte of Jesuit Bend; nephews, Gil Matte of Covington, and Darren Matte of Denham Springs; nieces, Rachel Marvin of Jesuit Bend, Traci Mouton of Gretna, and Tara Matte of Belle Chasse; and 10 great nieces and nephews.

Preceding Mr. Matte in death were his parents, Louis Matte, Sr. and Edna Thibodeaux Matte; nephew, Randy Matte; great-nephew, Jason Matte; and niece, Tammy Adam.
