CROWLEY - Lucas Eddie Smith of Crowley has chosen Elizabeth Ann Weekly, also of Crowley to be his bride.

The couple has announced their engagement and their intent to marry on June 30, 2012 at 2 p.m. The VFW Hall in Crowley is set to be the venue for the wedding and Rusty Broussard will officiate the ceremony.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Edward Weekly of Gueydan and Marilyn Weekly of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of Wedisse and Aline Thibodeaux of Rayne and the late Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Weekly of Gueydan. “Liz” attended Midland High School and is currently employed at Crowley Casino.

The prospective groom is the son of Oneal Smith and the late Genevieve Smith of Crowley. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oneal Smith Sr. formerly of Midland and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Istre formerly of Mermentau. Lucas attended Midland High.

After their wedding, the newlyweds will reside in Crowley.
