A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012. at Duhon Funeral Chapel in Rayne for Mabel “Petite” Credeur, 94, who passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012. at 9:38 a.m. at the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette.

Rev. Allen Breaux officiated for the services.

The family requested visiting hours be held Monday, October 29, 2012, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Rosaries were recited at 4:00 p.m. Monday evening and 11:00 a.m Tuesday Morning in the Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Visitation continued on Tuesday at 8:00 a.m. until the time of services.

Interment was in the St. Theresa Catholic Church Cemetery in Duson.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Vincent of Duson, Mary Jane Stoute and husband, Norbert, and Sable Lantier and husband, Dale; one son, Nathan James Credeur and wife, Elaine, all of Scott; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-four great- grandchildren.

Petite was preceded in death by her parents, Ovide Sonnier and the former Alzenia Hernandez; her husband, Voorhies “Can” Credeur and numerous siblings.

Pallbearers were Ron Credeur, Anthony Thibodeaux, Byron Stoute, Carl Stoute, Ronald Blanchard, and Cleb Menard. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Dohman, Elmo Lasseigne, Jr., Elmo Lasseigne, III, and Eric Hoffpauir.
