Not one, but two Rayne High wrestlers brought home division III state championships from this weekend’s State Wrestling Tournament held at the Century Tel Center in Bossier City.

Billy Marcantel and Brennan McKnight brought home state titles in their weight class following a very successful senior campaign.

Marcantel defeated Bossier’s Timothy Johnson in the 182-pound weight class for his title.

McKnight claimed the 220-pound title with a win over Nicholas Cortez of Basile.

Rayne’s Andre Falcon was runner-up in the 152-pound weight class to Alex Martin of De LaSalle.

Cody Manuel and Dayton Constantin both claimed third place in their respective weight class, Manuel at 132 pounds and Constantin at 285.

Landyn Thibodeaux and Brennan Fontenot picked up team points by placing fifth in their weight class, Thibodeaux at 120 and Fontenot at 160.

Billy Thibodeaux completed the top Rayne High finishers at sixth place in the 170pound weight class.

Overall, the Wolves scored 186 points, finishing in fifth place of 23 teams in Division III. Taking top team honors was Brusly.
