Sheriff Doug Anderson said Derekj J. Desselle, 27, was shot in the head, allegedly by Matthew T. Consway, 22, and his wife, Ashley Lemoine Conway, 21, both of Marksville.
Desselle’s smouldering body was found Monday afternoon by a man checking his deer stand along Beaubgouef Road in Moncla. The ground around the body was scorched and littered with trash.
Why the Conways allegedly shot Desselle has not been disclosed.
The couple was located in Denham Springs on Tuesday night and arrested without incident by Livinston Parish deputies.
They are charged with first degree murder.
