Last month, the Rayne Police Department received a complaint that Martelle Mouton, 27, was engaged in a sexual relationship with a female juvenile. The department initiated an investigation which substantiated this complaint.

Rayne police detectives obtained a 12- count arrest warrant for Martelle Mouton for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.

On Saturday, July 2, the Rayne Police Department received another complaint regarding Martelle Mouton.

During the course of this investigation, the Rayne Police Department executed a search warrant at Martelle Mouton’s Eighth Street residence.

During the search warrant, Rayne police officers discovered two firearms within the dwelling. Because Mouton has been convicted on prior occasions of the Uniform Controlled Substances Act, it is illegal for him to possess a firearm.

At the conclusion of the July 2 search warrant, Martelle Mouton was arrested for 12 counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and certain felon in possession of a firearm.

Martelle Mouton is currently on parole and is not eligible for bond.
