Alderman Gerald Foreman
Cole acknowledged that he resided in the Rayne aldermanic district 3, and, therefore, could not qualify for the District 4 Rayne City Council seat held by Gerald Foreman.
Cole resides on the District 3 eastern side of the Northeastern that serves as the boundary line between District 3 and 4.
Judge Clausen, however, informed Foreman and Cole that the qualifying challenge had been assigned to District Judge Castille, explaining, “Legally, it’s not my case to resolve.”
Cole’s withdrawal notice was notarized and placed in the mail immediately after he and Foreman appeared in district court.
