Funeral Services were Monday, September 6, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Merella S. Guidry, 70, who passed away Friday, September 3, 2010, at her home in Duson. 

Pastor Dwayne Williams of The Family Church of Lafayette officiated the services.

Survivors include five daughters, Adriane Ware of Duson, Macklyn and husband, John Guidroz, of Lafayette, Phyllis and husband, Alphe Ardoin, of Scott, Jodie Broom of Carencro and Tonia and husband, Shane Ardoin, of Duson; one son, Joseph V., Jr. and wife, Kathy, Guidry of Lafayette; one sister, Sue Savoy of Erath; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Ms. Merella was preceded in death by her husband Joseph V. Guidry, Sr. of Duson; her parents, Francis “D.S.” Savoie and Lula Mae Lanclos Savoie; two sisters, Leatrice Meaux and Ursula Cormier; and one grand- daughter, Jennifer Faith Guidroz.

Pallbearers for her service were David Ware, Randall Savoie, Samuel Lightell, Troy Foreman, Perez K. Meaux and Chad Guidry. 

Honorary pallbearers were Joseph V. Guidry, Jr. and Robert J. Wells.

Visitation was Sunday 10:00 a.m. till 10:00 p.m. then 8:00 a.m. on Monday till time of services. 

Burial was in St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Scott, under the directions of Duhon Funeral Home, L.L.C. of Rayne.
