Mire Elementary's Butterfly Garden earns prize

George Guillory, Chairman of Acadia Soil & Water conservation District presented a check to Mire Elementary for 1st Grade Teacher, Leana Miller for her class’s Butterfly Garden as part of Acadia SWCD’s Annual Stewardship Week.  This year’s theme is Conservation Habits = Healthy Habitats.  Acadia SWCD will also allow their staff to do the labor involved in the project.  On hand for the presentation was, standing from left,  Cherri Baggett, Mire Elementary Disciplinarian; Melanie Venable, Mire Elementary Principal, Mrs. Miller, Mr. Guillory, and Karen Waltrip, Acadia SWCD District Secretary.
