Rayne—Funeral services for Mrs. Burley Broussard, the former Dorothy Simon, 83, were held on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Father Kendall Faulk will officiate. Interment followed in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Scott.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 2:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.

Mrs. Broussard passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 in a Lafayette care facility.

A native and lifelong resident of the Judice area, Mrs. Broussard lived her life caring for others, especially her family. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with and caring for her family.

Survivors include her husband of over 65 years, Burley Broussard of Lafayette; daughter, Vickie Bellard and husband, David of Scott; son, Pressley Broussard and wife, Cindy of Lafayette; sister, Hazel Boutin of Lafayette; brother, Turney Simon of Merryville, TN; step-brother, Howard Champagne of Lafayette; grandchildren, Nicole Pitre, Jamie Boudreaux, Sean Bellard, and Jake Bellard; step-grandchildren, Ashley McCarty, Jennifer McCarty, and David McCarty; great-grandchildren, Aysia Richard, Ava Pitre, Brody Boudreaux, and Trevor Carter; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Proceeding Mrs. Broussard in death were her parents, Sidney and Odelia Hebert Simon; sisters, Doris Thibodeaux and Leah Simon; and brothers, Dafraus Simon and Glaude Simon.

Serving as pallbearers are T.C. Carter, Todd Boudreaux, Sean Bellard, David Bellard, David McCarty, and Lance Pitre. Named as honorary pallbearers are Jake Bellard and Brody Boudreaux.
