A Mass of Christian Burial for Norris J. Meaux, 65, was celebrated on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Bill Ruskoski served as celebrant.

Interment followed in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2, Rayne.

Visitation began on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. and continued throughout the night and on Wednesday until 12:30 p.m. in Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne. A rosary was recited on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mr. Meaux passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012, in a Crowley hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of the Rayne/Mire area, Mr. Meaux was owner and operator of Norris J. Meaux Building Contractor Company for 40 years. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his daughters, Cherie Meaux of Mire, and Ashley Guillory and husband, Robby, of Mire; sons, Wayne Meaux and wife, Linda, of Duson, Melvin Meaux and wife, Barbara, of Rayne, Shannon Meaux and wife, Tricia, of Rayne, and Brent Meaux and wife, Danielle, of Duson; sister, Patsy Dupuis and husband, Dennis, of Rayne; brothers, Emery Meaux and Johnny Meaux, both of Crowley; and grandchildren, Morgan, Matthew, and Mitchell Meaux of Duson, Claire Guillory of Mire, Brandon Williams of Florida, Tayler Monique of Rayne, and Shaise Trahan of Duson.

Proceeding Mr. Meaux in death were his parents, Estay and Odile Arsement Meaux.

Duhon Funeral Home, L.L.C. of Rayne was entrusted with arrangements.
