NEW ORLEANS – On Friday, September 7, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m., Ochsner Health System will present its 7th annual Pediatric fundraiser family benefitting Ochsner Pediatric Programs. This year’s event, “Back Down South”, will feature Hunter Hayes, Country Music’s multi-talented writer, musician, producer, performer and Breaux Bridge, LA native, in concert at the Mahalia Jackson Theater.

Concert tickets are $40 per person, thanks to title sponsor Capital One Bank. Ochsner’s Pediatric Family Assistance Fund helps families cope with the financial pressures that can arise during children’s hospital stays.

“It is difficult for any individual to have a loved one in the hospital for an extended stay, and the burden of financial pressures can add to the stress to the situation,” said Joan R. Griffith, M.D., System Chairman, Department of Pediatrics at Ochsner Children’s Health Center. “Our priority is the patient’s wellbeing and family support plays a major role in the recovery process. We are grateful that this special event will help provide financial assistance to the Ochsner Pediatric Programs and the families participating in these programs.”

Hunter Hayes is the only country artist to play every instrument, write/co-write every song, and co-produce his critically acclaimed self-titled debut album. As a 2012 Academy of Country Music New Artist of the Year nominee and Teen Choice Country Male Artist of the Year, Hunter has been touring and performing live for decades, currently selling out venues across the US and Canada on his MOST WANTED headline tour. The Louisiana native, multi-talented writer, musician, producer, and performer has also shared the stage with Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Trace Adkins, Brad Paisley, and Hank Williams, Jr. He recently announced plans to tour with Carrie Underwood this fall on her 2012 “Blown Away” tour.

During his time in New Orleans, Hunter will visit the children in the Ochsner Pediatrics Department, and will also celebrate his 21st birthday in his hometown state by performing the national anthem at the Saints home opener on Sunday, September 9th.
