CROWLEY - Michelle Lynn Rawson became the bride of Cody Winston Guillory on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 7 p.m. The double ring, candlelight ceremony was held at First Presbyterian Church in Crowley. Pastor Jimmy Broussard officiated the exchanging of vows.

Michelle is the daughter of Jimmie and Debra Suydam Rawson of Sulphur. She is the granddaughter of Lester and Willie Richard of Sulphur and Mike and Jan Suydam of Topsy. Michelle is the great granddaughter of Pearl Turner of Topsy.

Michelle graduated from Sulphur High School in 2002 and is currently employed at O.B.’s in Lake Charles. She is the mother of two boys, Austin and Landon.

The groom, Cody Winston Guillory is the son of Joseph and Cynthia Courville Miller of Crowley and Scott and Michelle Boudreaux Guillory of Arnaudville. He is the grandson of Harry and Barbara Courville and the late Betty Courville, George and Fonda Guillory and the late Deanna Guillory, James Lubert and Sylvia Miller, all of Crowley and Jeff and Polly Boudreaux of Jennings. He is the great grandson of Nazel Guillory of Ville Platte and Beatrice Comeaux of Jennings.

Cody graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2002. After attending LSU at Eunice, he attended and graduated from McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a degree in business management. He is the owner and manager of Cody’s Crawfish and Catering Shop in Sulphur.

The bride entered the church on the arm of her father. She was radiant as the doors of the beautiful old First Presbyterian Church opened and the trumpet blared to announce her entrance. The grand Gothic architecture and stained glass windows served as the main décor for the sacred ceremony. Alternating pews were marked with satin and tool ribbon with roses and strands of pearls accenting each bow. An arrangement of roses was displayed on the lovely church piano, complimenting the colors used in the bride’s bouquet. The couple donated the arrangement for the Sunday church services, in remembrance of all deceased family members.

The bride wore a strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and one-piece corset. The bodice was embellished with embroidery accented Swarovski crystals, bugle, seed and glass beads and sequins. The embellishments ornamented the center of the front of the full A-line gown. The caught-up, cutaway skirt was richly decorated with motifs. Completing the elegant Maggie Sottero gown was an embellished chapel length train. The bride wore a finger tip length veil and crystal beget Swarovski head band.

For her wedding day, the bride wore a pair of pearl earrings given to her as a gift from the groom. She carried a large round bouquet of roses in multi-colors of white, peach, and chocolate.

In keeping with tradition, for her something old the bride carried in her bouquet a piece of old jewelry that her grandmother gave her as a little girl to play with. Her wedding gown served as her something new. For her something borrowed she wore an embellished crystal and silver bracelet worn by the groom’s cousin, Elizabeth Rue Dale on her wedding day. Something blue was the lettering “I Do” on her shoes.

Serving as the bride’s matron of honor was her sister, Kayla Rawson Lueck. The bride’s sister, Terri Rawson, served as her maid of honor. Bridal attendants included Victoria Miller Boudreaux and Britney Miller, the groom’s sisters, Ashley Jett, Melody Pierce, Rachel Alverado, Rachelle Savelle and Elizabeth Thierback, friends of the bride. Each member of the bridal party was attired in a unique personally selected floor-length formal dress in a deep chocolate brown tone. They each carried a bouquet of ivory white roses with pearl accents.

Serving the groom as his best men were Justin Foreman and Tyler Godeaux, cousins. Additional groomsmen included Caleb Guillory, brother, John Broussard and Matt Miller, cousins, Patrick Dequeant, David Broussard, Justin Johnson and Corey Lee, friends. Kirk Guidry was an honoree groomsman

Serving as a junior bridesmaid was Grace Boudreaux, the groom’s niece. Austin and Landon Aron, the bride’s sons, served as the junior groomsmen.

Guests were ushered to their seats by Brian Broussard, cousin, and Jarod Gary and Jeremy Guchereau, friends of the groom.

For her daughter’s special day the mother of the bride, Debra Suydam Rawson, wore a gorgeous floor length gown in a bronze color. Completing her gown she wore a long sleeve jacket sporting a Chinese collar. The jacket was adorned with gold and amber jewels and crystals. On the shoulder of her jacket she wore a corsage of ivory roses.

The groom’s mother, Cynthia Courville Miller wore a satin, hunter green two-piece floor length dress. The bodice of the dress was embellished with crystal beading and accented with a rhinestone broach. The portrait collar draped just off the shoulders where she wore a beautiful corsage of roses.

Music was provided by Lauren Baker, violinist; Joseph Stemplewski, trumpeter; pianist, Susan Comeaux – groom’s aunt and vocalist, Peggy Miller – groom’s aunt. Mothers were escorted to their seats to “You Will Always Be A Child In My Eyes”. The couple signified their becoming a family by lighting a unity candle to “Grow Old Along With Me”. Other musical selections included “How Beautiful” and the “Wedding Song”.

A friend of the couple, Casey Guchereau read the scripture, Genesis 2:18-24.

Immediately following the ceremony was a reception held at the International Rice Festival Building. The reception hall was magnificent with drapes of chocolate satin, ivory tulle and organza throughout the room. The walls twinkled with strands of lights hanging from the ceiling. Ceiling drapery swaged from the center of the room with the focal point being a large ball of white and chocolate roses. Green foliage and white lit trees were used throughout the hall as accents. Each guest table was dressed in ivory with a chocolate satin runner, displaying a center piece of cattails, decorative branching and petite ivory and brown flowers. Votive candles wrapped in chocolate ribbon with the bride and groom’s name surrounded each centerpiece.

The Bride’s cake was a three tier confection separated by pedestals holding roses in colors of white, peach and chocolate. The cake was centered on top of a chocolate satin draped table. On either side of the bride’s center table was an arrangement of flowers and roses accenting the bride’s wedding colors. The adjoining tables, which featured hand painted fleur-de-lis champagne goblets for the ladies and beer pilsners for the men were on either side of the main table. The bridal table décor was completed using the bridesmaid’s rose bouquets. Serving the bride’s cake was her godmother and aunt, Monica LeBlanc.

The groom’s cake was a two-tier pineapple upside down filling and chocolate frosting. The cake was decorated with cattails, shotgun shells and delicious chocolate dipped strawberries. Atop the cake was a replica of Cody’s hunting pal, his 10-year-old labrador, Sassy. The groom’s area was decorated with memorabilia of his favorite past time, duck hunting. Serving the groom’s cake was his godmother and aunt, Gayle Guillory Godeaux.

A rehearsal dinner was held the Friday night before the wedding at the groom’s grandparent’s camp, George and Fonda Guillory. The event was hosted by the groom’s parents and grandparents. The menu included crawfish etoufee’ and trimmings.

After returning from their honeymoon destination of Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will be residing in Iowa, Louisiana.
