Officers called to the scene of a disturbance Easter weekend found an infant with what appeared to be burn marks on her.

According to records, a disturbance complaint was received about 3:30 Saturday. Responding to 105 East Ardoin, officers found a man and a woman fighting and a broken trailer window.

Records indicate there were three children at the scene who had been left by themselves. One, described as eight or nine months old, had burn marks, the record shows.

Joshua Loera, 22, and Samantha Courville, both of 105 East Ardoin, were each charged with domestic abuse battery and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.

The children were turned over to the Office of Child Services.

A half hour before the disturbance call, police received a call from the Acadia Medical Center ER that Jessica Lorea had allegedly been beaten by her brother, Joshua, but did not want to file charges.

Joshua Lorea is no stranger to city police.

He was arrested on March 28 on four counts of failure to use child restraints, three counts of running a stop sign, reckless driving, no proof of insurance, and improper/unsafe equipment.

He is on one-year probation from a City Court sentence of Nov. 15, 2010 from a disturbing the peace conviction.

He has pending in City Court charges of disturbing the peace and simple battery.

Courville is also on City Court probation from a Nov. 29, 2010 disturbing the peace conviction.

She was arrested in January 2011 by city marshals on two money warrants (failure to pay fines).
