Gov. Bobby Jindal's information and technology staff called in LSP after noticing a piece of computer equipment out of place Monday morning at the State Capitol.
The drawer was noticed by a contractor who was reporting for work. The drawer contained a computer server. The contractor notified his co-workers of a possible security breach and they, in turn, called in state police, who are responsible for the governor's security.
State police say detectives took possession of the server and will conduct a forensic analysis of the data.
Authorities say there is no evidence indicating that a breach occurred but an investigation is continuing.
