NEW ORLEANS – As Louisiana enters over 12 hours of Isaac's wrath, power outages continue to spring up in the state, particularly in the southeastern part of the state.

According to Entergy's latest release, Hurricane Isaac has knocked out power to more than 450,000 residential and commercial in southeast Louisiana.

The company's website indicates that those included more than 150,000 in New Orleans, about 160,000 in Jefferson Parish, some 15,700 in St. Bernard, about 10,800 in Plaquemines, 27,300 in Lafourche, 16,000 in St. Charles, 16,700 in St. John the Baptist and 17,700 in Terrebonne Parish.

Officials say crews are not able to start repairs until winds drop below 30 or 35 mph, which is likely to be Thursday at the earliest.

Slemco's website says 1,114 of its customers are out of power. Most of those without power come from St. Martin Parish (1,006). Avoyelles Parish has 30 without power, Acadia Parish has 45, St. Landry Parish has 26, Vermilion Parish has six and Lafayette Parish has one customer without electricity.

Cleco's website shows that 52,169 total customers without electricity. St. Tammany Parish has been its biggest burden with 47,932 customers without power there. St. Mary has 3,240 without electricity, 586 in Rapides Parish, 316 in Iberia Parish, 94 in Grant Parish and one in Avoyelles Parish.
