In an article in a local newspaper USGS John Lovelace spoke at the Optismist Club in New Iberia in support of the expansion of JISH. He states that based on data compiled through a partnership with the state Department of Transportation and Development, the Louisiana State University AgCenter, the Louisiana Rice and Research Board and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury there is little threat in the Iberia Parish area for the depletion of water or the encroachment of salt water, which were the two major concerns of residents who spoke that night at the Sliman Theater. My question is what type of partnership does he have with them? Is this a study that they participated in? Does Mr. Lovelace speak for them?
