
Breaux Bridge – Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Penny Bourque Daigle, 45, who passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at her residence in Lafayette. Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Fr. Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, conducted the services.
Shonna Broussard was the reader for the service. Gift bearers were Jade Landry and Valerire Broussard.
Penny enjoyed gardening, cooking, camping, fishing, most of all spending time with her family. She was an avid bingo player. She was a past member of the American Legion. She never met a stranger and loved everyone.
Survivors include her mother, Janice Bourque of Breaux Bridge; her husband, Steve Daigle of Lafayette; her sons, Dustin Bourque of Breaux Bridge, Kevin Daigle of Lafayette and Shane Daigle of Clarksville, Tenn.; her daughters, Dana Daigle of Clarksville, Tenn., and Crystal Daigle of Houston, Texas; her brother, Nicky Bourque of Breaux Bridge; her sister, Sheila Breaux of New Iberia; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Calvin Bourque; her brother, Calvin Bourque Jr.; and her sister, Valerie Bourque.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m on Monday.
Pallbearers were Nicky Bourque, Dustin Bourque, Nicky Bourque Jr., Matthew Bourque, Shane Daigle and Kevin Daigle.
Honorary pallbearer was Steve Daigle.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
