Mr. Vaniel passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012 in his Rayne residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Acadia Parish, Mr. Vaniel was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired from Hebert Vault and Monument Company after over 30 years of service. Mr. Vaniel was a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his sister-in-law and caretaker, Pearl Navarre; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Proceeding Mr. Vaniel in death were his daughter, Helen Marshall; parents, Francis and Julianne Istre Vaniel; brothers, Adam, Abner, and Charlie Vaniel; and sisters, Edmay Guillory, Bertha Matte, and Mellion LeJeune.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Duhon Funeral Home, LLC of Rayne.
