The Pios (3-2) led for the majority of the contest, taking a 48-43 advantage into the final quarter.
Jennings rallied and took a 65-64 lead with just under a minute to go, but the Pios’ Kane Thibodeaux hit a shot with nine seconds remaining for the eventual game winner.
Jennings got off two shots before the final buzzer but missed both.
Thibodeaux led the charge for the Pios, torching the nets for a season-high 34 points, 23 in the second half.
B.J. Vidrine and Jeremy Smith each added 13 points while Jacob Rogers had four and William Mahaffey had two.
Midland 67, Kinder 53
MIDLAND – Alan Fontenot poured in a season-high 32 points Tuesday to help lift the Midland Rebels to a 67-53 victory over the visiting Kinder Yellow Jackets.
Fontenot hit three of his six 3-pointers in the third quarter during a 20-7 run that broke open a tight game and gave the Rebels a 57-41 advantage.
Kinder outscored the Rebels 12-10 in the fourth quarter to account for the final score.
Midland hit 11 3-pointers in the contest.
Jake Gatreaux followed Fontenot with 12 points, all from beyond the arch, while Andrew Hains added eight points and Chase Vincent had seven. Darren Arceneaux chipped in four points and Alan Vondenstein had three.
NCS 71, Madison 36
CROWLEY – Northside Christian took a 39-16 lead at the half and cruised past Madison Academy 71-36 Tuesday to remain unbeaten at home.
The Warriors are currently 6-5 overall and 4-0 at home heading into Friday’s home contest against Grace Christian.
Nick Gotte led the Warriors with 19 points. He was a perfect 9-for-9 from the floor on the night.
Ben Rogers added 18 points in the victory while Pierce Rivera and Josh Wheeler had 11 each. Rivera also pulled down 11 rebounds, dished out six assists and had four steals.
Also contributing in the victory were Kade Miller, eight points and Grant Williams and B.J. Starks, each had two.
