Edward and Heather Semar of Rayne are announcing the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their daughter, Melissa, to Larry Wolford of Cinncinati, Ohio. The couple will be married on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, during a 2 p.m. ceremony at the Botanical Gardens of the City Park in New Orleans, followed by a reception at the Garden Atrium in New Orleans.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Adlas Broussard of Lafayette, the late Roseanne Broussard, and the late Henrietta and Henry Lee Semar of Rayne. She is a 1997 graduate of Rayne High School, 2003 graduate of UL-Lafayette with bachelor’s degree in business, and 2007 graduate of LSU Health Science Center with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed by Good Samaritan Hospital in Cinncinati, Ohio.

The prospective groom is the son of Jerry and Linda Wolford of Grove City, Ohio. His grandparents are Charles and Gilberta Eaton and Lawrence and Marie Wolford. He is a 1989 graduate of Caro High School in Caro, Mich., 1994 graduate of Michigan State with a bachelor’s degree in science, and received his MBA in 2000 from the University of Iowa. He is employed by Ingersoll Rand Company.

Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Cinncinati, Ohio.
